  1. Download app for iOS or Android. Set-up an account so you can add people who can access the doorbell.
  2. Connect to home network (WiFi Connection)
  3. Connect to existing wiring, new wirings or use as a wireless device.

Customization

You can customize the sensitivity of the motion sensor using the app. You can set-up the sensitivity distance up to 30 feet away. You can also choose which of the 6 zones the 1800 files of view the motion sensor should focus on.

The Smart Alert feature can be customized through the app as light, standard or frequent. This is when continuous motion is detected. You can also set up an alert for any motion within a specified range.

How it Works

Your smartphone receives an alert (rings) each time someone rings the doorbell or when movement is detected by the motion sensor. With an internet connection you can talk, hear and see anyone from anywhere.

The one main difference between the ring vs ring pro is the Ring can be used as a wireless or wired device while the Ring Pro is mainly a wired device. The choice of which is better depends on your preference. Both however are easy to install.

Another difference too is the motion detection feature. The Ring’s motion detection is within a range of 180° as compared to the Ring Pro’s 160° field of view. But then again, you can customize the motion detection of the Ring Pro to highlight certain areas in your home known as “alerts zones” whether these zones are within the field of view of the device or not.
