You’re probably saying to yourself, there are plenty of different companies out there that make grills, why have we just focused on these from Weber? Well, let us answer that question for you by telling you why you should consider a Weber as your grill. More…
Reasons to buy a Weber
The first thing to note in the weber spirit vs genesis contest is that weber has a reputation of being the lowest repaired appliance brand sold, they offer features of professional grills for less money. They are the most recognized brand in the grilling community, the company has been successful for more than 30 years.
They are always looking for new and innovative ideas on how they can improve existing products and also create new products that their customers would be interested in. The burners and flavorizer bars provide an event and the ignition is designed for one strike activation no matter how cold the weather is.
They also improved their grease management systems so that the grill is easier to clean once you are done using it, the one thing that stood out for us above the rest is that they have an app accessory so that you can monitor your food without having to be stuck at the grill all the time.
Quality
In the Weber spirit vs Genesis, both the Spirit & Genesis offer a great range when it comes to quality, but the Spirit has a lower grade of stainless steel as opposed to the Genesis. This doesn’t mean that they are not well-constructed grills, it just means that the Genesis is a bit more advanced than the Spirit when it comes to the construction of the grill.
There are some of the Genesis models that don’t feature stainless-steel burners, but there are others that you consider if this is something that you are looking for. All of the models in the Spirit & Genesis range feature stainless-steel burners, porcelain-enamel cast-iron grates as well as enclosed gas storage complete with gas gauges and thermometers.
The Genesis & Spirit Models
Here are the different models of each grill that they have to offer. Both of these ranges offer basic models as well as more featured models. Each model has a normal and natural gas option and the prices don’t differ so it all depends on what type of gas you would prefer to be using.
Images, as well as further detail on each model, can be found at the link below, all the ranges are available for your perusal starting at the Spirit E-210 and ending at the Spirit E-330. https://www.weber.com/US/en/grills/spirit-series

The Nitty Gritty
Here we will take a look at the technical side of things and give you the information on what each grill has to offer when it comes to burners, grates, gauges and more.
Spirit:
The E-210 (2 burners and 450 sq. inch) is the basic model and it offers the bare essentials, including a handy extra in the L.P fuel gauge.
The E-220 model serves he purpose of adding a 12,000 B.T.U side-burner to the E-210 setup.
The next model following that is the Spirit E-310, which is basically a 3-burner 529 sq. inch model that provides you with a bit more cooking space than the E-210.
Aside from the additional cooking space and the extra burner, there isn’t much else that is different.
Lastly there is the E-320 which is basically an upgrade for the E-310 with a 12,000 B.T.U side burner.
Genesis:
The E-310, is the basic model and it is a 637 sq in cooking surface powered by 3 burners and the basic features you require, without quite a few added extras.
If you are looking for any of the extras, you may have to upgrade to the E-330, which adds a side burner as well as a sear station to the E-310.
The S-Models
Available in both the Spirit & Genesis ranges are the S-models.
They are similar as their E-model counterparts.
The only difference is they have stainless-steel cooking grates, flavorizer bars in place of porcelain-enamel coated cast-iron (Genesis only) and stainless-steel shroud instead of porcelain enamel shroud (Genesis and Spirit)

And the final verdict is…
Now that we have had a look at the Weber spirit vs Genesis, we can say that the decision was definitely not an easy one to make, but we have been able to narrow it down to a personal favourite. The choice that you make also depends on what you have available for your budget without having to break the bank.
Personally, the Genesis grills seem to be the better choice in the end as they are built to last, and they have various models to suite your needs. Therefore spending a bit more from the start has its advantages in the long term.
There is only so much we can share and give you information on though, at the end of the day the choice belongs to only you as to which one to buy. We do however recommend getting a model with a side burner as later down the line we don’t want you to regret the choice that you have made.
Hopefully this has helped lead you in the right direction to make a decision, all we can say is go forth and happy grilling.
